On May 14, the inaugural meeting of the Offshore PV Professional Committee of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association was held in Beihai. Sungrow FPV was invited to attend, with over 100 representatives from relevant industry associations, key enterprises, universities, and research institutions in the offshore PV sector participating in the meeting.

In recent years, marine clean energy has attracted considerable attention, and coastal provinces across China have gradually initiated offshore PV project development. However, due to challenges such as complex environmental conditions and a lack of established standards and specifications, offshore PV projects remain highly challenging. Representatives at the committee meeting engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including "Existing problems and industry demands in the offshore PV sector," "Development of an offshore PV standard system," and "Suggestions for the integrated development of offshore PV with other industries." The discussions aimed to promote integration between marine PV and related sectors, advance the establishment of industry standards, and solidly drive the healthy and high-quality development of the sector.

Recently, the group standard "Design Specification for Anchoring Systems of Floating Photovoltaic Power Generation" was officially released, led and compiled by Sungrow FPV and under the jurisdiction of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA). The CPIA Standardization Technical Committee strictly followed the standard development procedures, organizing industry experts to review and validate the specification to ensure its scientific soundness, rationality, and authority. As the world's first industry standard for floating PV anchoring system design, it will provide critical technical support for regulating and guiding the development of the floating PV industry.

"The future of the offshore PV sector is full of promise. Strengthening research and development, advancing core technologies, and pursuing homegrown innovation are essential to the industry's progress," stated Zhao Shuheng, Director of System Solutions at Sungrow FPV, at the conference. He noted that standardization serves as a vital benchmark for high-quality development, and the newly issued anchoring design specification offers a comprehensive framework for system design. Moving forward, Sungrow FPV will continue to target key technical hurdles and cost-efficiency gains in offshore floating PV system design, while actively working with industry partners to advance the standardization and regulated development of floating PV power plants.
