Rising to the Occasion at SNEC! Sungrow FPV Explores "Blue" for a Low-Carbon Future

On June 13, the 17th International Solar Photovoltaic and Smart Energy Conference and Exhibition was grandly held at the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center. Sungrow FPV showcased its full-scenario system solutions at the event. On-site, the company signed a special agreement with Tianjin University for deep industry-academia-research collaboration, and together they will explore the "deep blue" of floating PV innovation.

Sungrow FPV made a major splash at the expo with the launch of its semi-submersible offshore floating PV system. Engineered for demanding marine conditions, the solution offers robust structural stability, broad adaptability, and exceptional strength—capable of withstanding wave heights of up to 6 meters and wind speeds of 40 m/s. The system also features a proprietary composite coating technology designed to resist severe salt spray, humidity, and heat.


To further concentrate on scientific research and technological breakthroughs in the floating PV industry, deepen industry-academia-research collaborative innovation, and build a new ecosystem for coordinated industry development, Sungrow FPV and Tianjin University have reached a cooperation agreement. The two parties will jointly leverage their industry-academia-research strengths, focusing on the exploration and application of offshore PV technology, while advancing interdisciplinary research and industry-education integration in floating PV technology.


In a media interview, Wu Weiwu, Deputy General Manager of Sungrow FPV, shared that the company is now developing demonstration projects that combine wind and solar on floating platforms. As it moves faster into offshore solar energy, Sungrow FPV remains committed to collaborative innovation and advanced applied research, aiming to overcome critical technical barriers in offshore PV and translate more innovative research results into industrial applications.
