The first International Integrated PV Application Seminar took place virtually on April 8, co-hosted by Jülich Research Centre (Germany), the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), Southwest Petroleum University (China), and Sun Yat-sen University (China). Dr. Wu Weiwu, Deputy General Manager of Sungrow FPV, was invited to the event and presented a keynote on "THE DEVELOPMENT AND KEY TECHNOLOGIES OF FLOATING PV."

The event gathered leading experts and scholars from BIPV, floating PV, agrivoltaics, and vehicle-integrated solar to explore future trends and cross-disciplinary collaboration. In the floating PV session, Dr. Wu Weiwu traced the industry's evolution, reviewed recent technological breakthroughs, and offered a vision for the future. With the global floating PV market now in a period of rapid expansion, the next phase will be defined by standardized and orderly growth—particularly as the world's first anchoring system design standard, initiated by Sungrow FPV, moves toward full implementation.

By 2050, solar power is forecast to supply about half of the world's electricity. The convergence of integrated PV (IPV) with other sectors will open up new horizons for the industry, boosting product value and potentially shaping the next wave of solar innovation. Floating PV—offering land savings, high efficiency, environmental benefits, and strong synergy with other energy systems—stands to gain major momentum.
