With the arrival of warmer spring days, clusters of floating blue solar panels are scattered across the intricate network of waterways, where fish thrive in the nets beneath. This is Bajing Town in Gao'an, Jiangxi—home to a Sungrow FPV "fishery-solar" floating installation that has been in service for three years now.
Designated as a key clean energy project in Jiangxi, the facility began commercial operation in December 2019 and has maintained stable performance ever since. It generates 120 million kWh of electricity annually, saving 36,500 tons of standard coal each year. Sungrow FPV supplied the floating array solution and provided technical support for the project.
To make the most of the available water area, Sungrow FPV's team custom-designed the floating PV system and anchoring layout to suit both the local water conditions and the needs of integrated fish farming. They also chose the system with the lowest surface coverage, which allows for good water circulation, air flow, and light penetration for oxygenation. This design also enhances the natural cooling effect of water on the panels, improving overall efficiency and maximizing power generation.
With spring landscapes, fish swimming below, and solar arrays floating above, this harmonious integration of clean energy and nature is a vivid proof of ecological compatibility. Going forward, Sungrow FPV will stay dedicated to its goal of leading the global floating PV market—delivering eco-friendly, cutting-edge solutions that are adapted to local environments and open up new possibilities for floating PV across a wider range of applications.
