Recently, the Sirindhorn Dam floating PV project in Thailand was recommended as an innovative achievement and showcased at the Dubai World Expo. The project adopted Sungrow FPV's system and solutions.

The 2020 Dubai World Expo (postponed due to the pandemic) kicked off its Energy and Environment Theme Week this week. To mark the occasion, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) unveiled the "EGAT Smart Energy Solutions" at the Thailand Pavilion—featuring the Sirindhorn Dam project—to showcase EGAT's contributions to promoting clean energy utilization and development.

This project is the world's largest integrated hydro + floating PV energy project, with an installed capacity of 58.5 MW (DC). It is equipped with an energy management and control system that can adjust hydro and PV generation based on load changes, ensuring long-term, continuous, and stable power transmission to the grid. The two renewable energy sources complement each other, fully combining their strengths—without occupying valuable land resources, while reducing water evaporation losses, inhibiting algae growth, and improving water quality. At the same time, it meets the demands of a new-type power system characterized by clean, low-carbon, safe, controllable, flexible, efficient, smart, and friendly features. According to the plan, the project will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 47,000 tons annually once operational.
