The Ubonrat Floating PV Integrated Smart Energy Project in Thailand has recently been grid-connected and officially put into operation, with the entire system solution supplied by Sungrow FPV. Situated in Khon Kaen Province, the facility has a nameplate capacity of 31.2 MWp and is projected to generate around 46,000 MWh of clean electricity each year, cutting annual CO₂ emissions by roughly 41,000 tons. With enough output to power about 18,000 households, the project will help ease local electricity shortages and contribute to Thailand's journey toward carbon neutrality.

This project stands as Thailand's first demonstration plant combining floating solar, hydroelectric power, battery storage, and an integrated smart energy management system. Given the uneven underwater terrain, the engineering team deployed a three-segment anchoring solution to achieve balanced load distribution and reinforce array stability. The floating array was configured in a single-row layout with extra-wide walkways, making maintenance safer and more convenient. Construction took place during Thailand's rainy season, when the team faced persistent downpours and sharp rises in water levels. In response, they continually refined the installation approach to guarantee reliable system performance under harsh conditions, while upholding standardized customer service across the full lifecycle of the floating PV system.
