A 31 MW floating solar project in Selangor, Malaysia, developed by TC Investment, has recently reached grid connection. The entire project utilizes Sungrow FPV's complete system solution. Upon full operation, it is projected to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 610,221 tons, setting a new benchmark for clean energy development in Malaysia.

This project encountered a challenging site with limited, irregular water surfaces but ambitious capacity targets. To meet these demands, the engineering team deployed a custom irregular array configuration—with the largest single array sized at 20 MW—which required meticulous anchor point selection and load distribution planning. Leveraging site survey data, the team performed integrated wind-wave-current analyses to pinpoint the most effective anchor locations. Complex underwater conditions, including steep terrain and wide-ranging elevation variations, were addressed through Sungrow FPV's advanced multi-segment mooring design. By incorporating elevation data for each anchor block, the team conducted detailed simulations of every mooring line's length, ensuring a robust and precisely engineered solution.

Malaysia is tapping into the vast potential of floating solar, driven by plentiful solar irradiance, proactive government policies, and proven implementation expertise. As outlined in the Malaysia Renewable Energy Roadmap (MyRER), the nation targets a 31% share of renewable energy in its total power generation by 2025.
