The 8th International Marine Corrosion and Anti-Fouling Forum took place in Ningbo on April 28. Wu Hao, Director of Sungrow FPV's Product Center, was among the invited speakers and presented a keynote on "Technical Challenges of Nearshore Floating PV." Attendees held robust discussions on marine renewable energy development.

Driven by national policy, China's coastal provinces are actively pursuing the "dual carbon" agenda and have made marine PV a key development priority. Nearshore solar enjoys natural benefits over land-based installations, including longer daylight hours and unobstructed sunlight, leading to higher energy output. As such, expanding marine renewables will play a critical strategic role in the energy transition of many coastal regions.

Wu Hao pointed out that while offshore PV offers vast potential, it remains in the early stages of research and development and requires further exploration. Compared to inland floating solar, offshore projects face numerous risks—including strong winds, waves, ice, seawater, and corrosion—that must be carefully addressed. Sungrow FPV will keep building its technical reserves and offer safe, reliable products along with integrated system solutions to help advance the nearshore PV sector.

Next, Sungrow FPV will stay on course with its solar-driven mission, scaling up nearshore clean energy initiatives and providing customers with lasting value through solutions that combine superior performance and rigorous quality standards.
