On November 4, the kick-off and first discussion meeting for the CPIA group standard "Design Specification for Floating PV Anchoring Systems," led by Sungrow FPV, was successfully held online via video conference.

The meeting received strong support from the China Photovoltaic Industry Association and was organized by Sungrow FPV. Ji Zhenshuang, Deputy Director of the Beijing Jianheng Certification Center, served as the head of the standard development working group. More than 40 experts from 13 organizations, including Sungrow FPV and the China Electronics Standardization Institute, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Pei Huichuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the CPIA Standardization Technical Committee, presented an overview of the overall progress in industry standard development. Wang Yukun, Director of System Solutions at Sungrow FPV, explained the significance of establishing the anchoring design standard and outlined the meeting's agenda. Subsequently, the anchoring expert team led by Dr. Wu Weiwu, Deputy General Manager of Sungrow FPV, engaged in in-depth discussions with experts from participating organizations on the general framework and content of the anchoring system design specification.

Although the anchoring system accounts for a small share of the total cost in floating PV projects, it plays a decisive role in the safety of the power plant. In previous domestic and international projects, anchoring design flaws have led to plant damage incidents, causing substantial economic losses to investors. The "Design Specification for Floating PV Anchoring Systems" aims to establish a safe and reliable design methodology covering environmental conditions, load calculations, and anchoring system design, ensuring both scientific rigor and precision in anchoring system design.
