MIGIVA Group, a leading agricultural enterprise based in Ica, Peru, with over 30 years of expertise in agriculture and aquaculture, has taken a groundbreaking step towards sustainable development. In line with Peru’s renewable energy goals, the group has pioneered integrating “renewables + agriculture” by constructing the country’s first floating solar plant at its Agrícola Andrea farm.

The plant fully equipped with Sungrow FPV systems, featuring a total capacity of 450 kW, is fully self-consumed on-site, with an expected annual power generation exceeding 780,000 kWh. This innovative installation will help the farm save approximately $140,000 in electricity costs annually and reduce CO₂ emissions by more than 650 tons per year, making a significant contribution to environmental preservation.

A Sustainability Milestone in a Desert Landscape

Built on the idle surface of a reservoir within the farm, the floating solar system addresses the region's water scarcity challenges by reducing evaporation losses and preserving the reservoir’s water quality. Surrounded by desert terrain, the project exemplifies the potential of combining floating solar technology with sustainable agricultural practices.
